Artist Statement
Hello, I´m Teresa Henry, an English painter based in Alhaurin El Grande near Marbella in Southern Spain.
Working mainly in watercolours and acrylics, my paintings are contemporary, impressionistic and semi-abstract in style.
I´m inspired by emotions, spirituality, nature, and travel. I love to reflect light and a sense of wonder through touches of gold. For me art is a language without words and my intention is for my art to speak to you through your feelings about it.
Artist Bio​
Teresa was born in Bedfordshire, England. After studying graphic design she went on to work for numerous design agencies in and around Bedfordshire and London and running her own successful design business.

In 2010, after undertaking various art courses, and whilst running her business, she joined a collective art studio on Brighton seafront in England. From here, and via a local gallery she started selling charcoal drawings, watercolours and oil paintings. She exhibited for two years during the Hove Artists Open House Festival in Hove, England.​ Then life circumstances, the births of her children and the death of her mother, caused her to take a different path. She retrained and became a nutritionist running a successful practice in her home town of Hove. But life circumstances changed again, this time in the form of Brexit. In late 2018, together with her husband and young family, they decided to move from England to Spain, settling in Fuengirola where she begun to paint portraits in acrylic. Then world circumstances, in the form of a pandemic, caused another life changing decision with 2022 seeing in another move... onto a motorhome and the family went traveling.

The traveling in particular inspired Teresa as the freedom, the breathtaking views, the excitement of new places and experiences were so wonderful she just wanted to capture it´s essence in paint.​

Today she is based in Alhaurin El Grande, near Marbella in Southern Spain. Her paintings are born from all these experiences and range from minitures on paper to large works on canvas. She intends to start exhibiting again and is planning a joint event with a fellow artist later this year.
