Focus

Focus - that moment when something catches your attention completely, and the rest of the world seems to disappear.
I wanted to capture an expression I’ve seen in him many times, completely absorbed, yet effortlessly composed. Something has caught his attention, and for that moment he seems entirely fixed on it, unwilling to be distracted.
His coat changes beautifully with the light, shifting in colour and tone depending on how you see him. I explored that through the pigments themselves, allowing the colour to move and vary across the surface in a way that helped me capture both the richness of his coat and the intensity of his concentration.
Original watercolour · Selected for the Artefacto exhibition in London in November.

Focus would sit beautifully in a study or workspace - a quiet reminder to give your attention to what matters and let the distractions fall away.
