Pulse
Pulse - that first stirring of energy before it fully takes shape.
This painting began as an exploration of pigment and water, movement and aliveness felt before anything became recognisable. As I worked, the colour and water began gathering and separating around a central axis, like a current running through the painting, developing its own rhythm and sense of life.
Pulse became about that underlying aliveness, the beginning of something, the life already within it, and the sense of form emerging before we quite know what it will become.
