Hope
Hope - that quiet sense of possibility that makes us believe things can get better.
What first caught my attention was the contrast between the warm, earthy centres of the sunflowers and the light moving through them. I chose to introduce a beam of sunlight, heightening that contrast between darkness and light and allowing the painting to move beyond observation into something that speaks of optimism, possibility and the sense that something brighter may be ahead.
